Who

Alexandrian scholar, famed for his learning in arithmetic, geometry and astronomy, who became bishop of Laodicea in Syria. Eusebius preserves part of his Canons on the Pasch, which reckons the date of Easter from the spring equinox. The full Paschal Canon printed under his name survives only in Latin, and most scholars think it a later work.
