Who
Bishop of Carchar in Mesopotamia, according to the Acts of the Disputation with Manes, which tells how he debated the founder of the Manichaeans and refuted him. The Acts were written in Greek in the early fourth century and survive whole only in Latin. Heraclianus of Chalcedon names a Hegemonius as their author, and the debate is probably a literary setting rather than a record. They were the Church's main early source on Manichaean teaching.
