Ahinoam of Jezreel, one of David’s wives while he was a fugitive from Saul (1 Samuel 25:43). She was taken captive with Abigail when the Amalekites burned Ziklag, and freed when David pursued them (1 Samuel 30:5, 18). In Hebron she bore David his firstborn, Amnon: “His firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess” (2 Samuel 3:2). She is not Saul’s wife of the same name (1 Samuel 14:50).
