Jehoiakim

Who

Son of Josiah, named Eliakim, whom Pharaoh Neco made king and renamed (2 Kings 23:34). He cut up and burned Jeremiah’s scroll in the fire (Jeremiah 36:23). Matthew does not name him, going from Josiah to Jechoniah; Jerome takes the two kings of almost the same name to have been confused (see the note on the kings Matthew passes over).
