Noah

Who

Noah was “a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time” (Genesis 6:9), whom God saved from the Flood in the ark with his family, and with whom he made the covenant of the rainbow for every living creature (Genesis 9:8–17). Peter calls him “a preacher of righteousness” (2 Peter 2:5) and sees in the eight saved through water a figure of Baptism (1 Peter 3:20–21). The Fathers read the ark as the Church, outside which no one was saved from the waters (Cyprian, The Unity of the Church 6; Augustine, The City of God XV.26).
