Who

The name given since Erasmus to the anonymous Roman author of a commentary on the thirteen epistles of Paul, written in Rome under Pope Damasus and long passed under Ambrose's name, together with the Questions on the Old and New Testament. He reads Paul with a lawyer's precision and preserves Old Latin readings older than the Vulgate. Aquinas and the medieval glosses cite him as "Ambrose".
