CommentAmbrose of MilanPublic domainLuke 12:49–53

Though the connexion would seem to be of six persons, father and son, mother and daughter, mother in law and daughter in law, yet are they five, for the mother and the mother in law may be taken as the same, since she who is the mother of the son, is the mother in law of his wife.

Reproduced in full. Translation: Oxford 1841 (Newman), public domain (Public domain).
