CommentAugustine of HippoPublic domainJohn 10:22–30

The Jews cold in love, burning in their malevolence, approached Him not to honour, but persecute. Then came the Jews round about Him, and said unto Him, How long dost Thou make us to doubt? If Thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. They did not want to know the truth, but only to find ground of accusation.

Reproduced in full. Translation: Oxford 1841 (Newman), public domain (Public domain).
