CommentOrigenPublic domainJohn 1:29–31

As there was a connexion between the other sacrifices of the law, and the daily sacrifice of the lamb, in the same way the sacrifice of this Lamb has its reflexion in the pouring out of the blood of the Martyrs, by whose patience, confession, and zeal for goodness, the machinations of the ungodly are frustrated.

Reproduced in full. Translation: Oxford 1841 (Newman), public domain (Public domain).

Also cites: tom. vi. c. 36
