A Greek expositor

Church Father

Who

An anonymous Greek commentator whose glosses reached Thomas Aquinas through the Byzantine catenae on the Gospels; the Catena Aurea cites him simply as "Græcus" or "the Greek expositor". Nothing is known of his name or date, and the material is late patristic or early Byzantine, often close to Cyril of Alexandria and Theophylact. The chain keeps him as a witness to how the Greek tradition read the Marian verses of Luke.
