Who

Byzantine scholar, deacon of Hagia Sophia and tutor at court, sent as archbishop to Ohrid in Bulgaria about 1090, where he spent the rest of his life. His commentaries on the Gospels, Acts, the epistles and the minor prophets condense Chrysostom and the Greek Fathers into a clear running exposition. Aquinas had them translated and quotes him throughout the Catena Aurea on Mark, Luke and John.
