Who
Patriarch of Constantinople from 458 to 471, remembered for his learning and his care for the clergy. His commentaries on Genesis, Daniel and the epistles of Paul survive only in catena fragments; he had opposed Cyril's Twelve Anathemas as a young man and stood firmly by Chalcedon as patriarch.
