As quoted in the map (KJV)

2 Samuel 6:2 (KJV)

And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.

Key words

וַיָּקָם וַיֵּלֶךְvayyaqom vayyelekh · Hebrew
'arose, and went.' The Septuagint has anestē kai eporeuthē (ἀνέστη καὶ ἐπορεύθη); Luke describes Mary with the same pair of verbs: 'Mary arose and went' (anastasa eporeuthē, Luke 1:39).
אֲרוֹן הָאֱלֹהִיםaron ha-Elohim · Hebrew
'the ark of God' — the gold-covered chest of the covenant, the throne of God's presence.

Why it matters

David arises and goes to the hill country of Judah to bring up the ark of God. This is the first of the four parallels Pitre finds between 2 Samuel 6 and the Visitation: Mary likewise 'arose and went' into the hill country of Judah (Luke 1:39). Luke is quietly retelling the procession of the ark, with Mary as the new ark carrying the Lord.
