Who

Bishop of Ancyra in Galatia, once a friend of Nestorius, who became one of Cyril's firmest supporters at the Council of Ephesus in 431 and preached there. His homilies on the Nativity and on the Mother of God praise the Virgin in the new language of the council, and an Exposition of the Nicene Creed is also his. The Catena Aurea quotes him on Luke.
