Genesis Rabbah 85:1 — Isaiah 66 read of 'the light of the Messiah… the first redeemer' (p 121)
Leviticus Rabbah 14:9 — 'In this world a woman bears children with pain, but in the time to come…' — no birth pangs in the age to come (p 121)
Genesis Rabbah 82:10 — Jacob buried Rachel at Bethlehem because he 'foresaw that the exiles would pass on from thence… so that she might pray mercy for them' (p 146)
Lamentations Rabbah 24 — Abraham and Moses plead for Israel and are not answered; when Rachel intercedes God says, 'For your sake, Rachel, I will restore Israel to their place' (pp 146–147)
